Feast of Sacrifice Celebrated in HKUST

EVENT DETAILS

On 18th of November, Feast of Sacrifice was celebrated in Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) with the sponsorship of Pearl Institute (Formerly known as Anatolia Cultural and Dialog Center).

There were approximately 100 participants from different cultural and religious backgrounds and from different countries such as Mainland China, Hong Kong, Turkey, Pakistan, and Italy.

The event started with a short informative presentation delivered by PhD Candidate Mr Mehmet Soylemez explaining how the Feast originated and is celebrated all over the Muslim World, what are the practices involved and their significance in Muslim culture. While the audience was enjoying the presentation and learning about the Feast, the table was set with a graceful meal with an appetizing scent. After the presentation, open buffet dinner was served to the attendees. The cheers and joys were reflecting off their faces and the gossips and chats filled the hearts with warmness and friendship.

We, PI,  are looking forward to take part in more activities in the future to promote harmony and friendship and to introduce the Turkish culture to the people with the aim of bridging ideas and connecting people.
