The Benefits and Challenges of Multicultural Environment

On October 27, 2012, Pearl Institute (Formerly known as Anatolia Cultural and Dialog Center) celebrated “Feast of Sacrifice” in the name of Friendship and Engagement Dinner with communities from varieties countries. The program was at Anatolia Cultural and Dialogue Centre, and featured presentation on “Understanding of one of Abrahamic tradition, Feast of Sacrifice” and speech ” The beneits and challenges of multicltural environment”

The program started with the opening remarks by Mujdat Yelbay, president and CEO of Pearl Institute who mentioned how happy he was to see a harmony of friends together for an evening of friendship. Following him, all honorable guests greeted the community with a warm welcome. The program featured speeches and discussions. As honorable speaker, Ambassador of People of Australia, Mr. Sam Wong joined the program. “Muslims in Hong Kong” book writer, Anthropology department of Chinese U, Dr. Paul O`commor. Assistant Professor of Upper Iowa University, Dr. David Eicher. Lecturer, Dr Hassan Zang and a journalist from Routers news, Si Si Tang were the attendees of the night.

Mr. Sam expressed the importance of loving and respecting each other despite the differences, in his “The benefits and challenges of multicultural environment” speech. Mr. Sam also mentioned the importance of friendship, collaboration, diversity and respect among the Turkish community. The guests had an opportunity to ask some political questions that relating to problems of multicultural societies in our times.

During the program, guests enjoyed delicious Turkish food and tea. The evening ended with closing remarks by guests
