Kermis for Charity to Oxfam International

EVENT DETAILS

There couldn’t have been a better way to spend a wonderfully warm Sunday than going to Kermis-food selling for charity function of PI (Formerly known as ACDC ) which was held on March 10th, 2013 at Island East Market.

It was a great opportunity for those who missed Turkish food, for those who wanted to try it, for those who wanted to make new friends and for those who wanted to have great dialogs with our volunteers and learn more about Turkish culture.

The food was fabulous including the best examples of Turkish cuisine: from kadayif -special kind of baklava-  to su boregi -cheese pastry-, from sarma -stuffed grape leaves- to muska boregi -meat pastry-. All food was prepared by volunteers of Women’s Society of PI and the profit from money is going to be donated to an International Charity Organization, Oxfam.

Friendships, laughter, happiness and good taste; all made a perfect event. Our volunteers felt so happy to contribute to the society by this kind of activity.

We’d like to thank everyone who supported this event with their generous donations, volunteering time, passing by and saying “Hi” and nice conversation.

As Pearl Institute, we’d like to see you all at our next Kermises and other activities.
