Pearl Institute (Formerly known as Anatolia Cultural and Dialogue Centre) celebrated the Eid al-Adha with the local community including people from various ethnic groups on Monday, November 7, 2011 at United Services Recreation Club in Hong Kong. Program started with the open buffet Turkish food special for this festival and continued with few speeches before the tea time!
Mr. Mujdat, the director of PI, celebrated all the Turkish and Hong Kong community’s festival and told to the audience the importance of sharing in this feast.
As this is the Festival of Sacrifice that signifies the sacrifices of Prophet Abraham and Ismael and their exemplary and obedient lives in the service of God as it is also known as same in Christianity, said Prof. Chan, Sze Chi in his speech as the honorary guest.
And Jenny who volunteered for finding places which was for the donating meat to the needy and for sharing with local friends as well, expressed she and her friends were impressed with the generosity of the Turkish people.
But it seemed the most delighted ones were the children. It is always important for children having these occasions to feel the atmosphere especially in this century. And they did enjoyed the evening very well.
In this occasion bringing all segments of the Turkish community and Hong Kong community together was the pleasure of PI. Hope to see you in the next celebration!
