Ashura event with Hong Kong friends!

EVENT DETAILS

Pearl Institute (Formerly knwon as Anatolia Cultural and Dialogue Centre) commemorated Prophet Noah’s safe landing after the great flood, by distributing over 100 containers of Noah’s Pudding to Hong Kongese Friends in 2011.

This sharing of this sweet dish, comprised of different grains, beans, dried fruit, and nuts,is representative of the unity and relationship of all human beings, not only to each other, but also to their Creator. The many ingredients are symbolic of multi-cultural unity and friendship. They are a different and perhaps unlikely mixture, yet when cooked together, the result is a delicious dessert. Preparation of Noah’s Pudding is a tradition among Muslims and Christians of the Middle East and other countries around the Mediterranean. In Turkey it is prepared annually in the month of Muharram and shared with friends and neighbors.

(January 15th, Hong Kong)
